Staff/Volunteer openings

Following are the open positions for all four of our sister organizations: Brother Wolf Center, Snow Wolf Publishing, Healing Nature Center, and Teaching Drum Outdoor School. The open positions are listed together because with most of them there is some overlap among the organizations; and because we are family, all dedicated to manifesting the same Vision.

We are in the middle of the most dynamic growth phase in our history. It’s as though we are being swept along by a tsunami of blessings and opportunities, and we are inviting others to come and ride the wave with us.

But not just anybody. You need to have a lust for life and an undying passion to be your best and give your best to the healing of the Mother and all Her children. You need to be a multitalented visionary, capable of being both a solo star and a model team player.

If that’s you, please ask yourself these questions:

  • Are you ready for a job that isn’t a job, but rather a way of life that fully engages body, mind, and spirit?
  • Can you stomach actually having fun while “working?” And if it’s not fun, are you good with being expected to make it so?
  • Can you imagine being supported to not only dream, but bring your dreams to reality?
  • Would you thrive in an environment with a high level of honor and respect, where everybody owns their own stuff and there are no blame-shame games, sarcasm, judging, scapegoating, gossip, or victimization?
  • Would you enjoy a culture where we strive for mutual support and admiration, and where everybody stands together on the same pedestal?
  • Can you not only live by, but passionately embrace, a “What can I do to help?” and a “The buck stops here!” ethic?
  • Are you ready to settle for nothing less than a social and cultural utopia (with allowance for human foibles)?

There is no coasting here—we love our life and we are continually manifesting that love in all we think, say, and do. Yet we don’t take ourselves too seriously; we find humor in all things and find lots of time to play.

Okay, if—and only if—you are now all smiles, please read on.

Current Positions

Although you see separate positions listed below, we are family—we are all willing to help wherever needed and however our expertise can best serve our four organizations.

All current, new, and returning staff receive special training in leadership, circle consciousness, and functioning at a high emotional frequency.

Many of the positions below can be combined or shared by more than one person, they can be executed remotely, and they could be either part or full-time.

If you feel called to explore the possibility of celebrating and blossoming together with us, or if you want to get more details on what the positions entail, contact us at office@teachingdrum.org.

Following are our open positions:

IT Specialist

Anything web, software, hardware, and office related falls under this realm, from webpage design and maintenance to social media, computers, printers, internet and phone service, productivity software, video production, correspondence, record-keeping, and AI.

Director Supports

With all staff working together to support each other, the two Director Supports specifically shadow our Founding and Branch Directors, and Elders, to serve in whatever ways that prove helpful. As well, they both fill in wherever needed in our four organizations. Being multiskilled, adaptable, and impeccably responsible are cornerstones to this position.

Editor-in-Chief for Snow Wolf Publishing

Along with fifty books on a broad range of topics making their way to being published, we are translating all of our books into German (and some titles into other languages) and creating audiobook and e-book versions. We also produce posters and handouts and offer writers’ retreats and trainings.

Book Editors for Snow Wolf Publishing

Upcoming books on dreamwork, animal guides, matedness, creative writing, and others, await editors to adopt them.

Translators for Snow Wolf Publishing

We have openings for two German speakers for whom English is a strong second language. Being largely a solo endeavor, translating fits well into any spare time you might have.

Carpenter-Crafter

From wetland boardwalk construction to forest retreat cabin renovation to log cabin restoration to window replacements to wildflower reintroductions to stonework, there are plenty of unique and creative involvements for the talented and versatile crafter.

Teaching Drum Program Guides

The Guide teams for our Wilderness Guide, Wilderness Moon, Guardian, Leadership and Blossoming the Child Programs are looking for additional members, both here and in Europe, as all Programs are soon to be offered on both sides of the Atlantic. These positions are open to Program graduates and those willing to undergo extensive training.

Outreach Specialist

All four of our sister organizations are primed to transition from best-kept secrets to bringing their messages to the world. Social media campaigns, mass emails, newsletters, webpages, and videos would be some of your tools. From a full-fledged retreat center to a transformational Nature trail to award-winning books to trainings in all phases of awakening our primal selves and full potentials, we are ready to rock!

Healing Nature Center Co-Director

The Center’s new Director Michael Fox is looking to partner with a credentialed mental health professional, to bring what we have to offer to the healing community and public, and help run our Nature-based emotional healing and trauma recovery programs.

Brother Wolf Center Director

Along with overseeing our current workshops, consulting, and canine communication research project, you would be working to establish a physical facility to serve as an educational center and sanctuary for rescued Wolves.

Miscellaneous

One of the above positions could include a “minor” as a Librarian, Natural History Museum Curator, or Welcome Host for visitors and prospective staff.

Volunteers

As one big extended family all dedicated to the same Vision, we are always open to working/playing with others, no matter how much or how little time you have, or where you might live. When we get together, it doesn’t matter what our title or position is—we all have fun and revel in the satisfaction of serving the Healing.

A Final Word

Lukewarm doesn’t work—we are on fire and kickin’ butt! If you’ve caught the flame, we can’t wait to hear from you…

Compensation for On-Site Staff

We offer room and board (includes rustic-to-modern living accommodations and Paleo diet-based meals), vehicle and equipment use, utilities, internet, the opportunity to learn wilderness survival, communal living, and Nature-based healing skills, a $550 stipend/month, and much more.
